Bild: Adeyemi was fined 450,000 euros for illegal possession of weapons

According to the German media "Bild", Dortmund winger Adeyemi was previously investigated for illegal possession of weapons and was fined 450,000 euros.
"Bild" stated that according to their investigation, Adeyemi received a penalty order for illegal possession of weapons a few weeks ago: Accordingly, the police seized two prohibited items from Adeyemi - a knuckle collar (knuckle collar) and an electric shock device (Taser).
Acquiring, possessing and carrying these items is an offense under the Arms Act, and breaches may result in fines or imprisonment of up to three years. In the case of finger-tiger use, a prison sentence of up to ten years may even be possible.
In Adeyemi's case (No. 201 JS 507/24), the Hagen Public Prosecutor's Office issued a penalty order (a penalty order that can be imposed by a court at the request of the public prosecutor without a trial): the winger must now pay a fine of 450,000 euros to the state treasury, totaling 60 daily wage penalty units of 7,500 euros each.
The amount of fine Adeyemi was fined was determined based on his net income. Although Adeyemi will have a record in the Federal Central Registry, he will not be considered to have a criminal record (he must reach 91 daily wage penalty units).
After being asked by "Bild", the chief prosecutor of the prosecutor's office, Michael Burggrave, confirmed that they had issued a penalty order against a 23-year-old professional player: "The penalty order was issued by the Wettel District Court and will take effect on October 30, 2025."
With this, Adeyemi was able to avoid a public trial, which is certainly not a bad thing for his ongoing career planning. A few months ago, he switched to star agent Mendes, who is seen as a tough negotiator, a figure who can broker big deals.
Adeyemi's contract with Dortmund runs until 2027, and the club hopes to renew his contract. The winger has started the season well (3 goals/3 assists) and has attracted the attention of top international clubs. Previously, Western media linked him with Barcelona, and "Bild" disclosed the contact between Mendes and Manchester United.
But in the meantime, Adeyemi's performance has declined in recent weeks. He seemed unhappy and smashed a water bottle onto the bench after being substituted. His relationship with Dortmund boss Niko Kovac appears to be strained. Is his depression also related to this sentencing order? Bild said he had not commented on the illegal possession of weapons before publication of this article.
However, Adeyemi's lawyer responded and stated that he was unable to respond within the deadline set by Bild. In addition, the lawyer also mentioned that the charges against his client were related to a "Mystery Box" ordered on TikTok. It's still unclear exactly what this means.
The Dortmund club responded to Bild's inquiry: "Dortmund always takes criminal charges seriously and discusses them with employees subject to confidentiality obligations."
Adeyemi is not the first Dortmund player to deal with the judicial system: team star Reus received a fine order of 540,000 euros in 2014 when he was found to be driving an Aston Martin without a driver's license. The Dortmund Prosecutor's Office later charged him with five other driving offenses without a license, but he ultimately had no criminal record.
It is reported that the current investigation against Adeyemi has lasted for more than a year and can be traced back to last year’s European Cup. At that time, he was not selected for the German team squad, but went to Greece for vacation with his wife Loredana. The latter shared vacation snaps on social media, including a sensational toilet selfie. During this time, police apparently also discovered illegal brass knuckles and launched investigative proceedings against him.
But this did not become a reason for him to cancel his secret wedding with Loredana: In October 2024, Adeyemi married the Swiss-born musician, who once sang in a song, "We just want money, gangster paradise."
