Body photo: Frankfurt executives visited China to discuss the stadium naming contract with BYD, with a total price of 90 million euros

According to the German media "Sports Bild", Frankfurt executives came to Shenzhen to meet with BYD executives in September this year, during which the two parties discussed a stadium naming rights contract with a total price of up to 90 million euros.
The report first pointed out that Frankfurt is now one of the clubs with the highest revenue in Europe: a turnover of nearly 400 million euros, 63 million euros in time deposit accounts, and 50 million euros in revenue from the Champions League this season. Their revenue continues to grow.
In order for this situation to continue in the next few years, Frankfurt's board spokesman Axel Hermann is currently negotiating with one of the world's top companies. Sport Bild understands that Herrmann traveled to Shenzhen in September along with vice-president Armin Kratz and Eintracht Frankfurt's head of international affairs Sami Hamama.
There, Frankfurt executives met with the executive team of Chinese electric car manufacturer BYD and presented the Frankfurt club's future development blueprint. BYD stands for "Build Your Dreams/Achieve Dreams", and the two parties have obviously begun to imagine a cooperation with great profit potential.
A hot topic in the dialogue between the two parties: the naming rights of the Frankfurt Arena starting in the summer of 2027. Because the contract between the current title sponsor Deutsche Bank and the club will expire in seven years, although there is the possibility of extending the contract, it is doubtful whether Deutsche Bank can compete with BYD in the bidding.
As far as the existing contract is concerned, Frankfurt will receive a total of 38 million euros in seven years. According to "Sports Bild", BYD's bid may "crush" this amount: providing more than twice the price to purchase the naming rights, the total price can be as high as 90 million euros.
The report also pointed out that Frankfurt operates very well in China, just like in Japan, because they have been deeply involved in the Asian market for a long time. This is how BYD came into contact with Frankfurt, because Frankfurt organized a complete football training course in a semi-public school in Shenzhen: they provided coaches and transferred professional knowledge.
The results are surprising: this school has trained members of the Chinese U15 national team, so Frankfurt enjoys a high reputation locally. BYD supports Frankfurt to build a football stadium outside the campus, and negotiations between the two parties about the Frankfurt Arena have also begun.
