According to the Daily Sports Daily, Real Madrid player Vinicius won a trademark lawsuit. A businessman from La Coruña, Spain, lost the case by the court for maliciously snatching his name as a trademark.

The merchant registered the "Vinicius" trademark in November 2018, covering clothing and gaming products. Although Vinicius had just joined Real Madrid at that time, he had already made his debut on behalf of the first team. The court finally ruled that the registration was "malice" and ordered the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office to revoke it, and sentenced the merchant to bear the litigation costs.

The defendant businessman once argued that the player was not known at the time of his trademark registration and that the name had a special origin in his own family. But the court rejected its argument, pointing out that there had been a lot of media reports at that time that proved that Vinicius was a world-renowned talented player, and therefore it was impossible for the defendant to not know who Vinicius was.
