In the first game back at Camp Nou, Barcelona beat Bilbao 4-0. Barcelona president Joan Laporta was moved to tears by his return to Camp Nou.

In an interview, Laporta said: "Everything is going as planned, and we are rebuilding this stadium that Barcelona people are proud of. At the kick-off ceremony, an old member said: 'Please finish it quickly, I want to live to see it.' Today, we make many Barcelona fans happy."

"This has been a dream of us Barcelona people, and now it is becoming a reality. This is the most important project in the history of the club."
