Last week, Real Madrid officially announced that French luxury brand Louis Vuitton (LV) Italian men's clothing brand Zegna became the official sponsor of the team, providing Real Madrid's men's and women's football first team and basketball team with formal outings and participating in institutional activities.

It is reported that LV's sponsorship fee to Real Madrid reached 7 million euros. However, according to The Athletic, it was learned from Real Madrid sources that the number was a bit "optimistic". But in any case, LV's status as one of the world's most well-known luxury fashion brands is unquestionable.

Sports Business Reporter Daniel-Yaw Miller said: "There is a huge synergy between fashion brands and football clubs. They are both huge cultural entities with rich history and cultural heritage. Just as fashion brands associate their history with series designs, the history of football clubs is closely related to their jerseys, aesthetics and logos, which is the same as fashion brands pay attention to patterns and designs at different times."

LV also has an indissoluble bond with the football world. In the 1998 World Cup in France, the brand once made a commemorative ball for the competition and has been responsible for designing suitcases for event trophysicals since 2010. The famous American singer and fashion designer Pharrell Williams has been the creative director of LV men's clothing since 2023. At his first fashion show, Bellingham, Toulam Jr., Sancho, Conde, Arnold and others attended the event. Philippine Dong also added a pair of "football training shoes" to this year's spring and summer series, priced at up to £885.

Considering the same country and the emphasis on fashion, Paris might have become LV's first official football club to cooperate with, but Miller said that Real Madrid's reputation and star personal brand effect make Real Madrid a more matching partner for LV: "Their practice in the football field is similar to that in F1, first informally providing Bellingham with dress on certain occasions, and then officially appointing him as the brand ambassador, just like they did to Hamilton before. In the football world, there is no larger entity than Real Madrid."

Bellingham became a close friend of the LV brand last summer and became the third star to sign with LV after tennis player Alcaras and NBA star Vinban Yama. Jordan Clarke, founder of Footballer Fits, Footballer Fits, said: "Real Madrid has many players loved by fans of the Z era (Generation Z, a popular Internet term, usually refers to a generation born between 1995 and 2009, and is greatly influenced by the technology, equipment, products, etc. of the Internet information age). LV, as a high-end brand, has never developed for these young audiences. I think that through players such as Vinicius, Bellingham, and Mbappe, they can attract new audiences and gain effective recognition."
