According to Daily Sports, Barcelona coach Frick has met with Ter Stegen and made it clear that the latter is not in his plan.

On the first day after returning to work, Frick assumed his responsibilities. According to Daily Sports, from sources close to the coach, Frick has met with the German goalkeeper and made it clear that in his plan, Ter Stegen will not be the first choice goalkeeper in the new season. Instead, he will be behind two teammates: contract signing to Joan Garcia in 2031 and Szczesny renewing to 2027.

Terstegen's contract is until 2028. He listened to the coach's opinion, but also expressed his firm attitude - which is consistent with his public opinion during his June 4th competition with the German national team in the UEFA Nations League: "I will continue to play for Barcelona next season."

As one of the team's captains, Ter Stegen conveyed his point to Flick that competition always exists, but he intends to continue to strive to be part of Barcelona's starting lineup, especially after just renewed its contract until 2028 last August. Faced with the arrival of high-level competitors, Ter Stegen was quite calm.

Although Barcelona signed Joan Garcia, this has not disturbed Ter Stegen, because he has not been the team's number one goalkeeper in the past few seasons. After a difficult injury, the German goalkeeper felt that he had returned to his best condition and was full of confidence.
