Rome youth training midfielder Picili was interviewed by TeleRadioStereo during his trip to Rome and talked about several topics including the new coach Gasperini.

Talking about Roma's preparation for the new season

"We are in good shape, we are training, and we are preparing for the new season, and everything is being done step by step."

Gasperini lets you try both in the back and front midfielder positions. Which one do you prefer?

"Actually, I don't have a particularly preferred position. Both are midfield roles, one is higher in front and the other is lower in back. I will adapt to it according to the coach's requirements, and I can be competent in both positions."

Are there any links that I particularly want to improve in the new season?

"I often say that I have only played Serie A for a year, and there are still many places that need to be improved. If you have to choose one, it may be the clarity of decision making when holding the ball, or to make yourself more mature, but this is part of the player's growth process."

Your father Francesco is a Juventus fan. Have you tried to "incite" him?

"It's almost successful now (laughs). When Roma plays against Juventus, he will eventually support Roma, which makes me happy because I have never understood why he is a Juventus fan rather than a Roma fan. It can be said that he has officially transferred to Roma. Of course, if Juventus plays other teams, he will still support Juventus, but when Roma plays against Juventus, he is now on Roma's side."

"I feel good. The coach is very good. Although everything is new and the whole team must understand his philosophy as soon as possible, we are improving day by day."

Did Ranieri give you special advice before leaving office?

"He gave me so much advice, and I'm eternally grateful. He helped me a lot last year, not only as a coach, but also as an elder. There is nothing I have to remember in particular, but will carry all his teachings with you, both on and off the court."
