football reporter Marco Buccitini said that introducing veterans such as Modric and Dzeko will not help Serie A's growth.

Buccatini first said: "Serie A has introduced a lot of players over 30... Now even players around 40 are coming. From Dzeko to Modric, to others who seem to be more out of nostalgia than practical use. We are excited about the transfer market like this, but ultimately it will harm the interests of the Italian national team. It is a pleasure to see Modric come to Serie A, but better happened five years ago."

Buccatini continued: "Only Vardy is the exception. He has always been a unique striker and he can still write. Good story. But I hardly think that other people are of much value except him."

Finally, Buchatini said: "We offered the last important contract to veterans at the end of their careers, and a few years ago they should have gone to China or the United States to get such a contract. Now we bring them to Serie A, and sometimes even to European competitions, but this practice doesn't bring real growth. I'm not disrespectful to the past achievements of these players, but continuing such a signing strategy means ignoring the national team, which will shame the national team in terms of performance and ambition."
