Osasuna player Bretons received a red card for an elbow strike in the first round of La Liga against Real Madrid, and he was subsequently suspended for two games.

In stoppage time of the game, Bretons elbowed Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Garcia while fighting on the wing and was sent off with a red card. The Discipline Committee of the Spanish Football Association announced that Bratongs will be suspended for two games as a result. Although the Osasuna club objected to the red card, the Discipline Committee believes that the video provided by Osasuna cannot deny the contents of the referee report. The Disciplinary Committee suspends Bratongs for two games in accordance with Rule 130. The rule states: "When there is violence during the game, but the behavior does not produce harmful results, it will be suspended for 1 to 3 games, or a maximum of 1 month."

This means that Bretons will miss the next two La Liga games against Valencia and Espanyol. However, Osasuna Club can also appeal to the Appeal Board, hoping to reduce the penalties against Bratongs.
