Jefferson talks about Westbrook: Do you want to retire with a decent attitude? Or just love basketball and pay any price
Former NBA player Richard Jefferson talked about Westbrook on the podcast "Road Trippin".
Talking about Westbrook's current situation, Jefferson said: "I will always remember my twelfth season of my career. I was troubled by a back injury and fell out of the rotation lineup at the Golden State Warriors. My high school friends made a special trip to watch the ball. They have never seen me on the bench since the sixth grade. I still remember that feeling."
"You really need time to adapt. I didn't experience this situation for the first time until I was 32 years old. That psychological impact is simply indescribable. It is this darkest moment that makes people sober. Will you start to examine what is really important? Do you want to retire with a decent attitude? Or are you willing to pay any price for purely loving basketball? We have witnessed too many legendary players going through such a mental journey. The key is whether you can cross the psychological level of 'cognitive reconstruction'." Jefferson said.
