German Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg reported that Schalke 04 is close to signing Zurich 28-year-old defender Katic.

reporter wrote: "Kattic joins Schalke 04, and the transaction is basically completed!"

"Schalke 04 has reached a comprehensive agreement with the 28-year-old central defender. The player will arrive on Monday and undergo a physical examination on Tuesday. The two sides will then sign until 2028."

"Zurich will receive 450,000 euros + floating transfer fee."

Katic was loaned to Plymouth by Zurich in January this year. He made 15 appearances in the Championship and scored 1 goal.
