Fans say Kane only eats cake and slows down England s pace and should win! Host: Are you kidding?
After England defeated Wales, a fan named Ben called talkSPORT radio to share his views on Kane and started a heated debate with hosts Jason Candy and Jamie O'Hara.
Fan Ben, what do you think of England's performance?
This game is very controversial, but I think if you look at the past few major tournaments that he (Kane) has been in, yes, he is good, but our team is very fast now. We are young, skilled and energetic, with Palmer, Saka, Foden and Bellingham. I think Kane's style of play slowed us down. Yes, he's been great at Bayern and Tottenham and he's a legend in England, I don't doubt that at all, but like Wirtz, he's a great player but just not the right fit for Liverpool. Harry Kane... I think we should change to a different type of striker.
Host Candy: So you want to take Kane in order to let Foden play center? A position he doesn't even play?
Not just Watkins, Foden, any of them can.
Host Candy: I have to argue with you on this point. I don’t mind discussing the topic of taking down Kane, but you have to find a solution, and that person can’t be Foden.
Fan Ben: You don’t need that old traditional striker. He slows down the game, and I'm not knocking him, but he does. When you say "centre forward" you mean a classic forward, I'm talking more like Liverpool's Roberto Firmino type. (Kane) doesn't play like that at all, he doesn't push the ball forward, he slows down the tempo of the game.
Host Candy: If you say Rashford or Watkins to me, I can understand the argument, but I don’t think it is the right decision. Kane is the best player in the world at the moment.
(Candy cited Kane's 18 goals in 10 games for Bayern this season.)
Fan Ben: No. It's like saying Haaland is the best in the world, scoring goals is all he does, but that doesn't make you the best player in the world. All Kane does is "eat pie" and score goals.
Host O'Hara: (Hearing this, he couldn't bear it any longer and interrupted) "Eating pie" to score a goal? ! Are you kidding me? Have you seen those goals he scored?
Fan Note: His traditional way of scoring goals is to stay in the penalty area. Scoring countless goals does not make you the best player in the world.
Host Candy: I can’t understand. There will come a time when we have to think about England without Kane, but for now Tuchel knows Kane, he has worked with him. Kane is one of the most feared strikers in the world at the moment, that's a fact, you can't tell me you're going to take down your captain.
Maybe at some point in the game, you really need someone to attack the depth. With half an hour left, you need someone to run behind the opponent, and then you may replace Kane. I think our current coach is brave enough to do that, but not starting him? I don't see this possibility.
Host O'Hara: (Concluding) If he looks slow or tired, it's okay to replace him, but he is the best striker in the world now, he is too good.
