Today, according to US Kris Pursiainen, Kidd and the Knicks "had a mutual interest" which shows that the Knicks did not give up chasing Kidd.

Previously, the Mavericks rejected the Knicks' request to interview Kidd. Sources revealed that the Knicks will continue to chase Kidd until the latter reaches an agreement with the Mavericks on a renewal salary increase or maintain an existing contract.
